she's still smokin'

Friday, June 30, 2006

we made it to our destination, now only four hours of driving remain to get back home. worth every second, my bike rides smooth, and there are no troubles!
there are many strange features at st. helens
this
this
rewarding us with views like this
winding roads with shear drops require constant vigilance
and this
and this...
like this
after about an hour of riding, we break out of the forest into the blast radius of saint helens, from here the most astounding views await
so now 2 hours into the trip, the real adventure begins, we are all alone on nearly deserted roads leading through lush old growth forests to the top of a ridge, across the valley from st. helens. beautiful!
Bjorn mounts a video camera to the tail of his goldwing. the footage from this ride is amazing! I will post it soon
this is the last town before the mt. saint helen's wilderness
bjorn's and my motorcycle are waiting for action
here we fuel up at the last gas station for the next 100 miles. I have no idea what kind of range my bike is getting at this point. i can only cross my fingers
with my motorcycle's radio blasting out a perfect mix of techno, and cruising music, we set out to find our way up the back side of mount saint helens. our route would take us through over 100 miles of winding forest roads. for a recently aquired classic bike like my goldwing, this seams a risky adventure
Since as long as I can remember I have been fascinated my the mt. Saint Helen's erruption... thus we chose the mountain as a destination for a completely un-hinged run
I have recently aquired a 1978 goldwing... in classic black!
my good friend Bjorn drove his goldwing up from LA to meet with Bushido, and Me.
